Productivity tips for self-qarantine

Students from different levels of institutions have been in self-quarantine for the past two weeks. Some have been engaged and still engaging in different online sessions to keep the academic school year going. However, upon investigation, I realized students find it difficult to be productive at home as there are many distractions and a lot of other things to do around the house.
I have good news for you that I hope will be of good help! I have put together some useful productivity tips for you to make the most of this time by not going outside and getting work done.

  1.  Avoid multitasking

Focus on one task at a time. This sounds simple, but we’re not as good at sticking to it as we’d like to believe. Give all your focus to the task at hand, and if its one that requires significant time, break it up into smaller tasks to complete throughout the day.

2. Take a five-minute break for every 30 to 45 minutes of work

This is a time management method that can be used for any task. Frequent breaks help you maintain focus and avoid getting stuck in procrastination ruts that come with trying to work for hours on end.

Take these five minutes to:

  •  get up
  •  stretch
  • walk around
  •  look outside
  • drink some water and come back with more energy and maybe some new ideas.
